Employee Assistance Programmes
What is an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)?
In short, a psychological EAP is a small package (usually 3 - 6) of "no questions asked" counselling sessions offered by the employer to their employees. Employers from small business holders to large corporate and public sector entities will attest to the significant benefits in productivity and achievement that a good EAP provider can bring. Delta's EAP services include team building, mediation, supervision, staff assessment and/or treatment and critical incident debriefing. We can help employers and managers develop a broad approach to employee well-being, improving productivity, reducing absenteeism, and improving workplace morale.
Delta Psychology is a team that has extensive experience in helping organisations to resolve workplace issues and improve working environments. We have knowledge of workplace issues in settings ranging from small operations to large public and private sector groups and have experience from employee, management and small business perspectives.
A number of organisations report that having an Employee Assistance Programme that has access to adjunct support services is a great advantage. Delta is uniquely able to offer very effective services with a wide network of partners to call on. Delta Psychology can also work in with your existing EAP contractor as required:
Key Benefits
- Effective manager-level support services such as supervision, mentoring and problem-focussed consultations.
- Employee issues addressed and treated in confidence, remote from the employer.
- Addresses "good employer" obligations under Employment Contracts Act and the requirement for workplace stress management under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
- Addresses the specific needs of managers. Senior staff are more comfortable attending our service than using their standard staff assistance programmes as they have fewer concerns about the confidentiality of referrals and privacy of consultations.
- Crisis management or intervention at short notice (eg workplace accident, violent incident, organisation restructuring/redundancy)
- Capacity for longer term support. Delta will offer reduced rates to employers and staff requiring longer term interventions than usual EAP arrangements allow.
